If y'all practice not similar the new operating system, you tin can rollback Windows to your previous installed version. But what if you received a You tin't become back bulletin, when yous clicked on the Get started button to rollback Windows xi/10?

We're deplorable, but you tin't go back. The files we need to take y'all back to a previous version of Windows were removed from this PC

If y'all have received this message, information technology could hateful two things:

Y'all are carrying out the rollback performance after 1 month of upgrading to Windows eleven/10. Subsequently Ceremony Update v1670, the period has been reduced to ten days.
You take deleted the $Windows.~BT and $Windows.~WS folders required by the system to perform the rollback operation.

Microsoft has mentioned that the Rollback operating is bachelor for a month only, after which, the files required for this operation, will exist deleted. Past a month we assume 30 days, merely I have seen Microsoft Support staff mention in the Microsoft Answers, a period of 28 days, in the case of Windows 10. As I mentioned earlier, in Anniversary Update v1670, the period has been reduced to 10 days.

If you used Disk Cleanup, a 3rd-party junk remover and it inadvertently deleted these folders or if yous manually deleted them, then you will come across this message, and yous will not be able to roll back. Do check for yourself if these subconscious folders exist on your C Drive.

Still one user hijo reported that he was unable to roll back Windows, now – ie. within a month of installing Windows x, and he received this message, even when he had not deleted any folders.

If yous receive this message, what you could exercise is check if you have any one-time organization restore points available, and try to restore your Windows x to the oldest point.

The other suggestions I have are :

Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
Run sfc /scannow
Run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth.

Having done this, run into if the rollback works now.

I will update this post if I detect anything more to add about this.
